Tigard Indoor Play Park

Updated: 3/25/2017

We visited the Tigard Indoor Play Park, which is located in the gym at Tigard United Methodist Church, just off of Highway 99 at 9845 SW Walnut Place in Tigard.

The Indoor Play Park is open Monday-Friday 9:30a-1:00p, and Wednesdays 3:00-6:00p.

First off, the parking lot is large, and easily accessible. The main entrance of the church is the best place to enter if you have a stroller, as it has a ramp and leads almost directly to the elevator.  If you would like to stop for a cup of coffee on your way in, there are stairs near the front door to lead you through the Jubilatte Cafe on your way to the gym (don’t worry stroller moms, you can access the coffee shop from the elevator entrance) just follow the signs!

Once you enter, you will need to sign-up or sign-in at the table located in the middle of the gym on the right side.  On your first visit all you pay is a $5 registration fee.  On future visits you can choose to pay $4/child or $6/family (up to 3) or you can purchase a 12-visit pass for $30/child or $50/family.

The Tigard Indoor Play Park is set up for ages 0-5.  It is divided down the middle by some play mats and a stop sign to separate children who would like to ride trikes and cars and those who prefer floor play such as trains, cars, and doll houses. Along one wall are play kitchens and plastic tool benches, along with a playhouse. There is also a baby area for smaller children who may just be learning to sit up.

You are welcome to bring your own snacks, and a separate “snack area” is located behind the registration desk, with 2-3 small tables and chairs. Also located near the registration desk is a “quiet play area” that contains a mat on the floor, along with small table where your child can read books or work on a puzzle if they need a little break from all the noise and excitement of the main gym.

There are a scattering of chairs along the outer edges of the gym which make it a great place to let your kids run and play while you sit and talk with other parents, or just relax with a warm cup of coffee.

All in all, we had a great time at the Tigard Indoor Play Park and will most definitely return again.  I’d love to hear about your experience, please leave a comment below!
